Rand Marsh is a Los Angeles based screenwriter/director/author, and also takes on students in any of these genres. He has written many articles and reviews over the years which have been published in a host of American and International magazines. Rand has directed short films, music videos, theater productions and feature films.
After studying screenwriting and film directing at USC and LACC Rand was employed by the Hollywood Gazette Newspaper and Spotlight Casting Magazine as a film reviewer and music critic, eventually having his own 'What's Happening' Hollywood column 'Rand-A-bout'.
From 1990 to 1996 he was a feature writer, reviewer and editor for the Los Angeles based entertainment magazine 'Venice'. In 1994 Rand won a PLAYWRITE COMPETITION sponsored by The New York Academy of Arts and was commissioned to write a play on the life of Isadora Duncan. It's world premiere was held in Los Angeles in November 1997.
Rand was on the staff of the British magazine 'Don't Tell It' as it's Los Angeles editor and feature writer. Rand was also a staff writer for the screenwriter's magazine Fade-In. Rand has also had his articles and reviews published in a host of US and International Newspapers and Magazines.
2002 Hired by Torchlight Pictures LTD, London to rewrite the script 'Venetian Heat'.
2003 Hired by Dragonfly Films, London to rewrite 'Silence Becomes You'.
2005 Directing the Los Angeles premiere of the award winning play 'This Lime Tree Bower' by Conor McPherson, the Young Olivier-Award winning, Irish playwright, was 'Pick of the Week' in the LA Weekly. The Los Angeles production received great reviews and played to sold out houses.
2008 Directing a feature film based on Rand's script 'Hatteras Hotel', aka 'Last Harbor'.
2009 Writing and directing 'Scorpio Men on Prozac' based on the novel with the same title.
2010 Debut feature film, 'Scorpio Men on Prozac' won the Best Director Award at the New York International Independent Film Festival.
Rand was asked to rewrite the film 'Hindenberg' for the Producer Frederick Lewis.
Two Films in Development - 'RoaR' - the story of William the Conqueror's invasion of England in 1066. Rand has been with Blue Cactus Films directing/producing commercials in Dubai, 2011 - 2016.
2017 - 2019 Rand was asked to turn his film script - RoaR, aka 'Iron Crown' into a Television Series. A second Television series, 'The McVets', was also completed. Another film previously written, Tag Team, has now been turned into a Television Series. Another feature film previously written, 9Bells, is awaiting pre-production. In development, 'The Dark Prince', the World War II story of the life and death of Reinhard Heydrich.
2020-2021 Pre-production to began in Spring of 2020 for several Television Series.
